

The inspiration for this piece was a former professor of mine who had us remove all of the vowels from our file names explaining that even without the vowels you could still read the word.

Inspired by Hitchcock's title sequences I choose a bold sans serif font then divided the word "broken" into fragments to look as if it had been dropped and shattered.

To express the sentiment of the phrase "express line" I extended the arms of the letters "E" and "L" for a linear quality then added a sense of forward movement by using italics.
